Major Lazer est au départ le fruit d’une collaboration entre Diplo et le DJ-producteur Switch.
Leur premier album, sorti en 2009, s’intitule Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do et mélange rap, electro, dancehall, jungle et reggae.
