Korn est un quintette californien ayant marqué le renouveau du metal américain de la fin des années 90. Le groupe a réinventé des structures originales voire improbables et insufflé une certaine dimension hip-hop au genre. La musique de la formation, sombre et morbide à l’extrême, véhicule les sentiments de mal-être du chanteur Jonathan Davis.
Véritables bêtes de scène au son ravageur caractéristique, les membres de Korn pèchent sans nul doute par le recyclage perpétuel de leurs effets et sons fétiches, erreur qui les a finalement enfermés dans un univers aux ambiances trop similaires et répétitives.
Les maîtres du néo metal ont fait leur retour dans les bacs en juillet 2007 avec un huitième album studio, Untitled. Un disque produit par Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails, Rancid, Bad Religion), déjà aux manettes du précédent album studio See You On The Other Side.
